Sunrise, moonset, and snow on the mountains. A winter in the desert is not complete without a sprinkling of snow. This will be our second time witnessing quite a sprinkle on the local mountains around Palm Springs. It sure makes for a pretty morning walk! We haven't witnessed as much rainfall as we've gotten in the last few days, but the desert sure needs it. It is absolutely amazing to see the flooding that happens so quickly - especially when you're from Vancouver and the amount of rain that causes a flood here is a shower at home. The RV park has a shallow gutter in the middle of all the roads - it connects throughout the park to drain into a big dugout spot. It works like a charm. Much more primitive than our sophisticated storm sewers at home.
We are currently on our last week of blasting through heavy duty school and work so we can enjoy our last 4 weeks in San Diego. We can't believe that's our last stop before heading home. Our time just flies! Yvonne is almost finished Term 2 of Grade 1. Her reading and math are great, so we're right on track. We are especially impressed with the great improvement in her effort towards school this year. As they say, it gets easier every year :-)
