Today we went to Aldor Acres out in Langley. They are a small dairy farm that has set up a great education centre about dairy. The kids got to see modern milking equipment in action as well as they got to milk a cow by hand. Then there was a hay ride into the pumpkin patch to pick a pumpkin to take home. They also got to see a variety of baby animals - kittens, pigs and cows. Above is a hilarious picture of a bull drinking water that is running off the roof.

Yvonne is loving her Art and PE class. Pictured above is her Art Teacher, John. He brought in a stuffed heron and taught the kids how to see simple shapes in objects from nature. Yvonne now sits her dolls up and does her own still life pictures. Next day, he had them do a pastel scenery, complete with shaded sky and sun-tinted clouds. He's an amazing teacher and talks to the kids in a way they totally understand while teaching them grown up art concepts. In PE, all the elementary kids love to jump on tricycles and chase each other. Each session, they get a bit of free-play, then they do some running and ball games.Yvonne has made a good friend called Sophie. She's in grade 2. Since the K to Grade 3's are all in the same art and PE, they get to see eachother at least once a week.
