Hungry Geese and ducks!! We are at Wilderness Lakes Preserve in Menifee, CA. It is south of LA and a bit inland from the ocean. It was a nice easy drive from Palm Springs, which is good because we go right back there at the end of next week. We are getting into places we've been before, so the excitement to blog is lessening. We don't want to bore those that have seen pictures of the same places, either, so our posts will be a bit more spread out now. Today, as our break from school, we went on a walk to feed the ducks. They sell food at the store, so we arrived at the canal with a bag and did they know we had food, or what! The three geese in the front of the pack (bottom picture) were quite agressive, honking away in Yvonne's face. She was running around screeming trying to get away from them - half in fun and half in real fear. They have no fear, they keep on pursuing you until they know for sure the food is gone. The three "teenager" geese in the top picture were a bit more gentle and Yvonne ventured to let them eat out of her hand - just once. It was a fun break.

Hip Hop Gansta Yvonne! On Monday, Yvonne got her Jonas Brothers poster up on her bedroom wall and instantly turned into a teenager. We discovered U-Tube movies featuring the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovado, the kids from The Suite Life, etc. Yvonne went nuts dancing hip hop and giving us a taste of her teenaged side. She really has some cool moves, so maybe we'll have to pursue some dancing lessons! She is growing up so fast and having lots of fun.

We met up with the Boyce family after 2 years since we met. We spent 2 weeks with them in northeast Florida when we were on our big North America trip. Since then, they have bought a house in Florida and now call it home. They had to deal with some rental property in California this winter, so we were working on hooking up while they were on this coast. We were really hoping to spend our time in Kino Bay together, but trailer trouble kept them in California until after Christmas. We were glad to get to see them again. Yvonne and Elizabeth kept on going right from where they left off and had a great day of playing. Unfortunately, we could only hook up one day - they are now travelling east and we are going west. Amazing with technology how you can coordinate visits like this on the road. HAPPY TRAILS, guys!
