Christmas Day 2009, Yuma Az. We had a great Christmas. Princess got a new bed and Yvonne got Baby alive from Santa. She talks eats and goes 1 &2 which will not be happening much as it is very messy. Grandma sent her a lady bug necklace . We had a very lazy day playing with all the lego and makeup. Les and Yvonne did make overs on each other and played lego. Yvonne and I played lego and I went for a bike ride and read for a bit, while I was making x-mas dinner . As usual the turkey dinner turned out great and we all got stuffed as usual.
Well we are off for a bike ride and I have turkey soup cooking for tonights dinner. Take care everyone. Jim

This was our Christmas tree. Yvonne has one in her room I made last year and this was the tree Santa put the gifts under. Yvonne got to open her makeup kit on X-mas eve from Aunty Janis. Aunty Janis also sent the Jean Jacket she was wearing with the top she got from her cousin Marina. Looks pretty cool.
We had Jack and Mary Lou from Cranbrook, Mary Lou runs the quilting and outreach into Mexico, in for our x-mas eve grazing. We just do nibblies, pickles, pepperoni, ham and an assortment of sweets. WE hope you all had a Merry Christmas.

Hello from Yuma! It's a tough day to take pictures, but definitely an eventful day to write about. We started our day with nice sunshine. Yvonne and I went over to the clubhouse to work on quilts. Jim went into town to reserve a turkey and pick up a few groceries. About an hour into our morning, we suddenly heard this weird waffling noise. Yvonne and I looked out the windows of the clubhouse and it was a litteral brown - out. The wind had picked up instantaneously and was wobbling the roof so loud, I was expecting to look out and see RV's swirling past like something out of Wizard of Oz. We were trapped there as you couldn't even go outside without risk of extreme sand bombardment. We kept on working on a quilt we had started until the power went out. We ended up being rescued and driven back to our rig because Yvonne was so scared and worried about Princess being alone in the rig. We managed to get in without the door flying off, and found a lovely amber - brown coating on everything inside. We had three windows and three roof vents open when we left. SO........we spent the rest of the afternoon cleaning and then baking gingerbread men. Nice thing about an RV - the oven works without power!
And we thought we'd escaped winter - HA! Mother Nature has all sorts of tricks and treats for you no matter where you go :-)

Saturday was the Soo Buhk Do tournament... Leslie and Yvonne have been travelling down to San Diego to train as Yvonne really wanted to do this. The top picture is us with master Kenyon. He was very impressed Yvonne was that commited to the tournament and her training. Pic 2 is all the white belts receiving there medals. Pic 3 is Yvonne getting ready to spar. Pic4- The San Diego connection. Erin and Dave's kids we met in SD and they are all in Soo Bahk. Pic1- Yvonne receiving her ist stripe from Master Kenyon. She worked so hard and her scores were 2 pts above the median, so she did very well. Hopefully we can find a Soo Bahk Do instructor up north. If not Tang Soo Do is the closest thing. As I am writing this Yvonne is still practicing her form moves. The girl is into it. We are so prouud of Yvonne. It was a big commitment and she worked hard and completed everything she had to.
Take care everyone and we wish you all a Merry Christmas. Jim Les and Yvonne
